On September 20, 2019, the Brightlands Chemelot Innovation Center held the Get Out of the Building event at the stunning ‘Loonhal’, which is part of the main building of the Maurits State Mine in Geleen. Student innovators, alumni, startups, scaleups, and ambitious SME’s gathered at this historic location to share their ideas and innovations in the fields of sustainability, health, and materials to more than 220 attendees.
The event kicked off at the safari tent at the center of the event with an introduction to the Brightlands Chemelot Innovation Center, which was followed by the introduction of the New Startups. Each new startup took to the stage to present their innovations in order to garner as much interest as possible in the limited timeframe.
The attendees then got the opportunity to choose between one of two stages located inside the ‘Loonhal’ where they would attend lectures from startups and a student project. Each presenter got the chance to literally get in the crowds’ heads because of the headphones that the listeners got to wear in order to listen to the presentations without distractions.
To the left of the safari tent, the innovation market was set up with tables and banners but most importantly, the startups who were eager to explain themselves in detail to anyone willing to listen or ask questions.
A special thanks to Event Management Group that organized a feast for the guests to enjoy, and to everyone who helped set up an event that felt so accommodating and inspiring. But most of all, thanks to all the attendees, from speakers to guests, who made the event such a success.
